Being a brother of Beta Theta Pi enhances all aspects of the college experience. We pride ourselves on our high academic standards, while still maintaining our premier social reputation on campus. During the fall, we are known for our tailgates, which always feature live music. We also schedule numerous date nights, crush parties, sorority mixers, and our annual out of town semi-formal. Our date nights range from out of house events like bussing to the state fair to in house events like our casino date night and redneck wedding. In recent years we have gone to NOLA, Charleston, and Nashville for semi-formal. The fall also brings our annual Fall Fest party with our friends at Sigma Chi and Tau Kappa Epsilon. We team up for a week of fun starting with a crush party on Thursday, band party on Friday, and on Saturday we end with the largest party on campus featuring a popular artist. The past few years have featured international DJs, producers, and rappers such as Laszewo, Carnage, and Waka Flocka Flame. The fall is also a time to continue building our tight-knit brotherhood through our brotherhood retreat, brotherhood events like paintball outings, and competing in Homecoming Week events and festivities.

Spring holds many of the favorite events for the brothers, starting with one of our biggest parties, Ski Lodge. As the spring continues, the calendar  stays packed with date nights, crush parties, and mixers. The spring also brings spring break, formal, beach weekend, and Beta Lei.  For spring break each year, groups of brothers organize trips to various locations across the globe. In recent years, the brothers have organized beach getaways, cruise trips, ski trips out west, and even trips outside of the country. Formal is always an exciting event for the chapter where we rent out a brewery, bar, or other similar establishment to crown our newest sweetheart. Beta Lei is our annual  week of philanthropy and social events. Some of the features of Beta Lei include a sand-covered yard, a flame-lit canopy, and is topped off with a 15 ft bamboo wall, constructed by the brothers, that surrounds the entire yard. Throughout the week sororities compete to help raise money for our philanthropy partner, Funding Bright Futures. Beta Lei week begins with a date night, continues with a crush party, and finishes with our biggest party of the year. In recent years, we hosted artists like Shwayze, Kap Slap, Austin James, and Grandtheft to close out the week.

While we pride ourselves on our overall well roundedness, we certainly don’t let that stop us from having one of the most packed social calendars on campus. Every week the brothers look forward to the social event(s) at the end of the week as a way to meet new people, destress after a long week, and have a good time. If you have any questions about the social calendar, please reach out to our social chair (social.chairman@gtbeta.org).
