Rush Beta 2008

The Gamma Eta Chapter of Beta Theta Pi at Georgia Tech is known not just for producing great Betas, but also leaders in every aspect of life. Each Brother and Pledge is encouraged to be well-rounded by participating in the “Three A’s”, Academics, Athletics and Activities. Even after focusing on scholarship, Betas are usually a member of at least one organization or team in addition to the Fraternity.

Gamma Eta strives for excellence in academics.
“If a fraternity is going to justify its existence today, it must provide a wholesome and flexible atmosphere for the pursuit of an academic education by its members.”—Dr. James L. Anderson Beta Theta Pi stresses athletics, social events, and campus activities; however, it remembers always that the pursuit of knowledge and solid academics is the most important part of the college experience for its members. Gamma Eta takes this commitment to education very seriously and has had a great deal of success in the realm of academics throughout its existence.
Gamma Eta’s grade point average has not only exceeded the Institute’s all-male grade point average every year of its existence, it also was one of the top two of any fraternity at Georgia Tech for the past three years, with an average of 3.13 for the fall 2007.

Athletically, Beta Theta Pi finishes in the top three of all fraternities at Georgia Tech in intramurals every year. The flag football, basketball, ultimate frisbee, and 4 on 4 flag football teams all finished second in the fraternity league the past year. This spring, we won 1st place in 4-4 football and racquetball. Beta fields a competitive team in every single intramural sport and we like to pride ourselves as striving to be the best.

Aside from the activities mentioned above, the brothers of Beta Theta Pi also enjoy what is perhaps the strongest social calendar on campus. Band parties, mixers, fall and winter formals, the Crawfish Boil, and Beta Lei, our annual week long party, are just a few highlights of Gamma Eta’s social calendar

Our main philanthropic activity here at Beta Theta Pi is the nationally renowned Dogwood Festival in the spring. For many years, the brothers of Beta Theta Pi have volunteered to help run the festival which has traditionally been held at Piedmont Park in Atlanta. Thousands of man hours go into planning, setup, running, and cleanup of the festival. It is a fun event in which we take a lot of pride putting on. The experiences learned through this philanthropy are priceless.

Above all, Betas are recognized as gentlemen.
